Meet our LA Marathon Pace Leaders: Charlotte, Silvia, and Irene

Our 2024 LA Marathon training season officially kicked off on Saturday, September 23! Over the next couple of weeks, we will continue to introduce our awesome LA Marathon Pace Leaders as well as our Marathon Coach. Find out why they run and some fun facts that could spark a conversation during your next group run! This week, we meet Charlotte, Silvia and Irene, our Pace Leaders for our 11:30/12:00 Minute Pace Group!

Name: Charlotte Pasillas
Which group do you run with? Team 12
How long have you been with the Pasadena Pacers? Since June 2021
How many marathons have you run? 9, but my 10th is coming up on December 10 as I’ll be running the Tucson Marathon!
Why do you run? The sometimes elusive high! Also fun, spending time with great people, setting an example for my kids, and mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Favorite post run snack/ meal? Fruit smoothie with chocolate protein powder
Running Mantra: Do hard things!
Occupation: Psychotherapist
Hometown: Chicago
What do you do for fun? Watch funny TV shows, spend time with my kids, and take post-run naps
Do you have a secret talent? (Please share): I play the piano!

Which group do you run with?: Team 11:30/12
How long have you been with the Pasadena Pacers? About 11 years.
How many marathons have you run? 25
Why do you run? To fundraise to end cancer and to help others get across the finish line.
Favorite post run snack/meal? Vegan protein shake.
Running Mantra: I think I can.
Occupation:  School Principal

What do you do for fun? Vacation.

How long have you been with the Pasadena Pacers? 4 years
How many marathons have you run? 4
Why do you run? Exercise is definitely the best medicine.
Favorite post run snack/meal? Iced coffee and a full breakfast
Running Mantra: “I can do this!”
Occupation: HR/Claims Examiner for So Cal Gas
Hometown: Pacoima, CA
What do you do for fun? Movies, concerts , travel, and spend time with family & friends. I joined a book club with some of the Pacers so I am back to reading.
Do you have a secret talent? (Please share): None whatsoever!
Anything else you’d like your fellow Pacers to know? I am really happy to be running this year, and my goal for LAM 2024 is to finish in under 5:30 hours. I have not been able to reach my goal yet, but I am confident that we can all reach our goals together this season!
