WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST THING ABOUT THE PACERS? The support of their running groups, no matter what level you’re in.
TELL THE FOLKS WHY THEY SHOULD START RUNNING: It’s the best exercise you can get and to challenge yourself. It’s free….you can’t beat that!

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH THE PACERS? I joined the Pacers in the fall of 2017.
WHY DID YOU JOIN OUR AMAZING CLUB? Because my friend knew that my goal was to run a full marathon and told me that the Pacers were going to start their marathon training.
TELL US ABOUT AN AMAZING PACER MEMORY: A memory that I will forever cherish in my heart, was finally running my very first L.A. Marathon, and all the love & cheers I received at MILE 20 from the Pacer family. It was so emotional & so very special. I still get tears thinking about it.
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST THING ABOUT THE PACERS? The friendships developed. It goes beyond being a running club, it’s the people you meet, they quickly become part of your family.
TELL THE FOLKS WHY THEY SHOULD START RUNNING: Take it from me, running was not my thing, I was not a runner, I couldn’t even run a mile! Seeing my friends run, motivated me to start running, so if I can, SO CAN YOU!

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH THE PACERS? I’ve been training with the Pacers for the past 3 years. I started with Pasadena Pacers in 2018 for my first LA Marathon. I then trained with Whittier Pacers for the 2019 LA Marathon. Last year, I trained with the SoCal Pacers for the 2020 LA Marathon. I’ve met a lot of great people along the way and I’m now excited to join the Azusa Pacers!
WHY DID YOU JOIN OUR AMAZING CLUB? When I challenged myself to run my first marathon, I tried to do everything by myself. I looked up helpful information online and on YouTube and thought it would be an easy straightforward process…I was completely wrong. I quickly learned that running for longer than 10 miles by myself was extremely difficult. I needed a team to help me get through my journey and that’s when I found the Pasadena Pacers. The positive energy and support that I experienced from day one was intoxicating! I felt like I found a group of people that could help me achieve my marathon goal and I did! Several years later, I’m ready to give back to our Pacer community and help other Pacers achieve their marathon goals!
TELL US ABOUT AN AMAZING PACER MEMORY: My first run with Whittier Pacers was very memorable. I met Sam and Nella during the morning stretch and they quickly asked me about my running stats to see where I would fit in. It turns out we all had similar goals and started running together… and we’ve been running together ever since. They’ve become great friends and I’m thankful for the Pacers for bringing awesome people together and fostering great friendships.
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST THING ABOUT THE PACERS? The welcoming and friendly environment is what makes the Pacers great! I’ve always felt welcomed and supported. I genuinely feel that people join the Pacers to become a better version of themselves, which makes it a great place to be.
TELL THE FOLKS WHY THEY SHOULD START RUNNING? Personally, I feel that running is one of the best sports in the world. Running offers life changing opportunities to anyone that wants to make them happen. You can challenge yourself to a big goal like running a Marathon and break it down to small daily goals across several months to achieve it. The process of running a marathon is life changing. It can be a rollercoaster at times, with many high’s and lows, but at the end of the day, you realize that it was all worth it! You become a better person through the process and you can apply the marathon approach to any big challenge in life to achieve your goals…the sky is the limit! As Kipchoge says, “No human is limited” and running a marathon is a great way to prove it to yourself!

WHY DID YOU JOIN OUR AMAZING CLUB? I joined so I can stay motivated to get cardio in my workout regime. Walking and talking makes the time go by faster
TELL US ABOUT AN AMAZING PACER MEMORY:
It would be the Santa Monica Classic . I was very sick with fever & chills the night before . I was better in the morning but didn’t have a lot of energy and quickly felt exhausted .Seeing pacers run by me kept me going but this one special stranger from another (Pasadena) chapter told me “ I’ll see you at the finish line pacer “ and that really stuck with me . I finished and got to the pier and she saw me and said “ See I knew I’d see you “ we remained Facebook friends to this day .
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST THING ABOUT THE PACERS? I think the best part of Pacers is the encouragement you get from everyone . Pacers help you reach your goals , if your goal is to go faster, longer distance or just keep moving we are here .
