Sandy Trina
14 min/mile Pace Leader

How long have you been with the Pasadena Pacers? I started with the Pasadena Pacers back in 2011. At the time, I hated running; I only hiked. I certainly never thought I would ever run a marathon. I started with the Pre-Conditioners and from there went to Wende’s 10-Mile Challenge. Then, a couple of friends decided to run a marathon and asked me if I was interested. I said yes, nervously.

How many marathons have you run? This will be my seventh marathon. My first marathon was in 2012. Every year I keep saying it’s my last, but, for some reason, I keep registering.

Why do you run? I run because it makes me happy. I don’t do it for speed. I don’t want anyone to get injured nor do I want to get injured. I run at a turtle pace, but I’m happy!

Favorite post-run snack/meal? Conchas.

Running mantra: “Always smile and take selfies!”

Occupation: Office Technician for LAUSD.

Hometown: El Sereno, CA.

What do you do for fun? Spend time with my daughter.

Do you have a secret talent? Everyone knows me as the Selfie Queen!

Anything else you’d like your fellow Pacers to know? I want the Pacers to know that no Pacer will be left behind.

Diana Chavez-Lopez
14 min/mile Assistant Pace Leader

How long have you been with the Pasadena Pacers? Three and a half years.

How many marathons have you run? Big fat goose egg (zero), but I’ve done five half marathons. I am looking forward to completing my first marathon with a great team.

Why do you run? For fun!

Favorite post-run snack/meal? Mimosas with my girls.

Running mantra: Run Happy!

Occupation: Sales Assistant.

Hometown: Highland Park, CA.

What do you do for fun? I love to crochet. (I just wish it burned more calories.)

Do you have a secret talent? Yes. ????

Anything else you’d like your fellow Pacers to know? Being a grandma is the best thing EVER!
