Our 2023 LA Marathon training season officially kicked off on Saturday, September 17! Over the next few weeks, we will introduce our awesome LA Marathon Pace Leaders as well as our Marathon Coach. Find out why they run and some fun facts that could spark a conversation during your next group run! This week, we meet Irene and Silvia, our Pace Leaders for our 12 Minute Pace Group!

How long have you been with the Pasadena Pacers? 3 years
How many marathons have you run? 3
Why do you run? Exercise is definitely the best medicine. Plus, I get to spend time with my sister, Sandra (one of the Pace Leaders for the 11:30 group!). With our hectic schedules, I rarely see family.
Favorite post run snack/meal? Iced coffee and a full breakfast

What do you do for fun? Movies, concerts , travel, and spend time with family & friends. I joined a book club with some of the Pacers so I am back to reading.
Do you have a secret talent? (Please share): None whatsoever!
Anything else you’d like your fellow Pacers to know? I am really happy to be running this year, and my goal for LAM 2023 is to finish in under 5:30 hours. I have not been able to reach my goal yet, but I am confident that we can all reach our goals together this season!

Why do you run? To fundraise to end cancer and to help others get across the finish line.
